Exchanging Views on Advanced Technologies and Space Industry Strategy, Including Honda Rocket and HondaJet

Kai Sugihara made a special visit to Honda’s U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles and was given the opportunity to engage in in-depth briefings and discussions for over three hours.

During the visit, Honda introduced its advanced technologies cultivated across automotive, aviation, and space-related domains. In particular, the discussions included technical insights into the Honda Rocket development project, which has recently drawn significant attention, as well as the globally recognized HondaJet—offering a valuable opportunity to experience the intensity and philosophy of on-site R&D.

Honda also shared perspectives on the latest developments in the U.S. space industry, including the regulatory environment and broader industrial structure. Through comparisons between Japan’s technological strengths and the realities of global competition, the visit provided meaningful insights.

Following the visit, Kai Sugihara commented that he “felt both the excellence of Japan’s technological capabilities and the level of speed required on the global industrial front line,” gaining a renewed perspective for the company’s integrated vision across space and AI.
