FOUNDER / CEO - KAI SUGIHARA SPEAKS AT CPAC JAPAN 2025

A Talk on How Space and AI Will Reshape Global Politics and the Architecture of Nations

Kai Sugihara spoke at CPAC JAPAN 2025 (Conservative Political Action Conference Japan), delivering a talk on how space and AI will transform international order, national structures, and the trajectory of civilization.

CPAC is a global political forum held across multiple countries, bringing together political leaders, diplomatic stakeholders, thinkers, and entrepreneurs. CPAC JAPAN serves as a key venue in Asia where leading discussions on politics, economics, and security converge—making it a strategically important stage for Bedrock Space to communicate its long-term vision internationally.

In the talk, Kai Sugihara framed the current moment—where the space industry and the AI industry are rising simultaneously—as an era in which “the operating system of civilization itself is being rewritten,” and developed three core arguments:

1) Space is becoming the next frontier of geopolitics

From satellite-constellation–driven communications dominance, to new diplomatic competition over lunar resources and asteroid mining, to “border redefinition” enabled by space transportation—and even futures where private space companies partially substitute state functions—space has the potential to rewrite the foundations of global politics.

2) AI will diverge nations by their “level of intelligence”

Differences in AI operational capability will translate into differences in national competitiveness. As decision-making in economics, defense, and diplomacy co-evolves with AI, an “intelligence gap” may accelerate inequality between nations—rebuilding education, industry, culture, and ethics in the process.

3) Space × AI × private enterprise will shape the direction of civilization

Kai Sugihara emphasized how private companies can act as “external engines” of states, why redesigning space as a living domain matters, how integrating AI with space can form new civilizational infrastructure, and how nations may be redefined not by territory, but by “ideology × technology.”

Following the session, discussions continued with politicians, entrepreneurs, and researchers on the future of space, AI, and the state. This appearance marked a major milestone in presenting Bedrock Space’s role in the fields of space, AI, and civilization-building on an international stage. Bedrock Space will continue operating at the frontier of global dialogue—bridging technology, culture, and policy—to build the foundations of the next era.
