FOUNDER / CEO - KAI SUGIHARA MEETS WITH KAZUYUKI NAGANO, MAYOR OF KIMOTSUKI TOWN, KAGOSHIMA
Discussing Space Development and the Future of Civilization; Guest Lecture at Kusunaka Junior High School Confirmed
Kai Sugihara met with Kazuyuki Nagano, Mayor of Kimotsuki Town in Kagoshima Prefecture, to exchange views on space development and the future of civilization.
Kimotsuki Town is home to the Uchinoura Space Center, a nationally significant site where Japan’s space activities—including rocket launches—have long been conducted. As space transitions from “research” to “industry,” and ultimately toward becoming a real living domain for humanity, the strategic value of regions with accumulated capability and infrastructure continues to grow.
The meeting explored how space development can create new industrial opportunities for regions, the importance of nurturing next-generation talent, and the role Japan can play in the emerging era of space expansion. The discussion also connected Bedrock Space’s mission—expanding humanity’s living domain into space—with the region’s potential, deepening shared understanding around future collaboration possibilities.
Following the meeting, it was also confirmed that Kai Sugihara will serve as a guest lecturer at Kusunaka Junior High School. The upcoming session will focus on the frontier of space development and future visions of civilization, creating an opportunity for meaningful dialogue with the next generation.
Bedrock Space will continue strengthening dialogue with local governments, educational institutions, and industry leaders as we advance efforts to build the foundations of a new era through space development.
