Exploring the Satellite Frontier with Tetsuya Handa

Kai Sugihara and Kiara Kawaguchi visited Maverick Space, a satellite startup, together with Tetsuya Handa (Former President, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank U.S. / Former President, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank Luxembourg).

During the visit, they exchanged views on the latest developments in the satellite sector, execution speed in technology implementation, the competitive landscape in global markets, and the role satellites play as core infrastructure for space-based systems. Space infrastructure is not built by rockets or stations alone—civilization-scale capability emerges when communications, observation, data, and operations converge through satellites.
